Shiri's New Secret Album

Shiri Maimon had her big breakthrough into the Israeli music scene in 2003, when she participated on the popular show A Star Is Born. In 2005 she represented Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest and was on her way to become an international star. Her fans are wondering what is the latest news on Shiri and when will she release her new album?

After the Eurovision Song Contest and the release of her popular self titled debut album in 2005 we haven’t heard much anymore of Shiri. It’s clear now that behind the scenes and with lots of secrecy, Shiri is working on a new album in English.
During the past year Shiri has gone to London in England several times to record songs in English for her new album. The recordings are currently at an advanced stage.

The songs for the new album are all written, composed and produced by the famous British music artist and producer T.J. Cases. Shiri got in touch with him after the Eurovision Song Contest, she tells: “I got a phone call from T.J and he said the he saw my performance at the Eurovision and told me that I can be an international star”. T.J. Cases offered Shiri to record some songs that he had written and composed.

In March Shiri left to London for 5 days in order to meet T.J. and to get to know him. In these days they worked on experimental recordings. Shiri says: “All the songs we recorded sounded just wonderful to me from the very first moment”. The positive outcome of their meeting caused Shiri to return again to London in October for another 8 days of recording.

The British producer had his own plans for the recordings with Shiri. He didn’t want to use the familiar Israeli sound with ethnical and oriental touches. Instead T.J. wanted something different for Shiri and focused her recordings on a R&B and Soul style and sound.

Shiri is really excited about her cooperation with the British producer and the records they made so far. Shiri tells: “Everyone that heard the songs in Israel so far, just loved it and supported it from the first moment”.

Currently Shiri is busy touring in the USA with the play she participates in called The Band. In December and January, when Shiri is done with the tour, she will return again to London. This time the visit won’t be for a few days. Shiri is planning to live in London for a while, in order to work on her album and complete the recordings.

Shiri leaves us with her enthusiasm saying: “I still can’t believe it! It was always my dream to become a worldwide famous and successful singer and now there is a big chance this dream will come true”.
