 In recent months Ran Danker has constantly been in the headlines. All the papers and gossip columns are searching for answers to the question: With who is the hot Israeli star dating? Ran has been spotted dating beautiful women like the actress Aniya Bukstein, the Israeli super model Odelia and another model Bar Refaeli, whom is also the girlfriend of Leonardo DiCaprio.
Unfortunately Ran doesn’t feel like sharing any details on who he has been dating. Ran says he doesn’t want to talk about it, because in his opinion its not so important for the papers and the gossip columns to know with who he is dating. On the other hand if he was dating someone he wouldn’t mind telling the papers and gossip columns if that would please them.
Ran actually finds it amusing to read how each paper and web site are writing almost every day that he is dating this one and then that one. Ran says: “Soon they will write that I’m dating my cat!”. But to return to the main question, he says that the names mentioned are actually just his friends, just as are many more women. At the moment Ran actually doesn’t have a steady girlfriend. He adds: “If I will fall in love again, everyone will surely know about it. I don’t feel the need to hide things”. It’s not that Ran is anxious to share these details with people, but of course he wouldn’t be ashamed about it or hide it. He is aware that Israel is a small country and not Hollywood where people do all kinds of things to disguise their private life.
Currently Ran is busy recording the 4th season of the series Our Song (HaShir Shelanu). He’s also rehearsing and going to participate at the upcoming Festigal. Beside this he just finished the job dubbing the children’s movie Arthur And The Minimoys to Hebrew. And, as if its not enough, in the meantime Ran is busy shooting a campaign of commercials for Diadora.
Although Ran is very busy with his career as actor, model and singer, something else has recently been keeping him mostly occupied. This is his relationship with his father Eli Danker, whom is a popular actor in Israel and playing in various soaps. Ran says: “This is actually the most exciting thing that happened to me recently. Most of my life we were hardly in touch. My father was busy with his career and his second family, while I was at a different place with my mother”.
Since Ran has become an actor himself, has caused him to become kind of friends with his father. At least the common profession has opened a door for friendship. Ran tells: “I feel that I have gained something important. Suddenly I have a father and a friend, which were things I wanted a lot for many years. Of course I still feel that something is missing, because hw wasn’t present in my life for so long. I guess there isn’t much I can do about that”.
Slowly Ran and his father are talking about more and more things, but there is still a long way to go for the two. Ran feels that there are still many things he can’t talk about with him.
Ran admits that it’s not an easy task or journey to clearify things between him and his father. There are things he prefers to keep between him and his father. Ran feels angry about many things that he would prefer to tell his father or family. They are working on it, trying to solve issues and what he has learned so far from his father that things aren’t always black and white. There were things he preferred his dad to do otherwise, but weren’t possible for his father at that time. “Still there are many questions that I really find very hard to ask, even a question like; Dad, why did you leave me? But we have a lifetime to solve these issues and I already see that good things have come out of it” tells Ran. He feels he has a friend and perhaps a partner on stage and is sure they will work together in the future. On stage, together with his father, Ran says that he might be able to take out all of his anger.
Ran is of course sorry and disappointed that his parents got divorced. Now when he thinks of all of it, he says that if his parents didn’t love each another anymore, then it was better that they didn’t stay together. His mother gave him all the tools in life to become who he is right now. When Ran talks about his mother he feels the urge to say that he owes his life to his mother. They have an incredible relationship and wouldn’t have been able to achieve the things in his life without her.
Ran’s past relationship with Ninet is one of the issues the gossip columns cant get enough from. Ran says the whole story Ninet is behind him, it’s over and he feels there is no use to talk about it anymore. “I know that many people don’t believe that Ninet is behind me and think that I’m still walking around with a broken heart, but its really behind me!”. In the beginning when Ran got over his relationship with Ninet, he would get angry at people that that said he was walking with a broken heart. It was still fresh and it really did hurt him then, but now he is completely over it. “I guess it had to end, and it did, now there is nothing new or more I can say about it actually. I’m in my life, she is in her life and she should enjoy it”. At the moment Ran is still acting next to Ninet in the Our Song, which isn’t hard for him. As his ex-girlfriend he respects her, which is mutual. Of course on the set they are at work and should behave professionally there. On stage they are partners, just like he’s the partner of other actors like Rona Lee or Oshrey, and they get along well.
Ran has an optimistic attitude about it, although sometimes he gets depressed. At a moment like that he shuts himself inside and likes to get away from everything. Ran admits he has it all, a sad side, dark side, angry side, everything! Since the age of 11 Ran has been seeing a psychologist to help him through these tough times. Ran thinks a psychologist is the best gift a person can get. He finds it good for the soul that he can talk to someone.
In Ran’s spear time he is tying to work on his debut album. Singing is the most natural thing for him and therefore he would really like to release an album. The theatre he enjoys, because he used to meet his father who worked there, since he was a child. As his folks were divorced the theatre turned in to a meeting place for them.
Although Ran appears shy during the interview, he gets along very well with publicity. Ran says that the publicity pleases him and of course boosts his ego when he receives many compliments. The fame also has less attractive sides: “Eventually I’m just a human named Ran, with a soul and a heart and not just everything external”. On the other hand Ran is seen as a sex symbol, which flattering to him. “I have met many girls that are trying to meet me and get to know me. It happens a lot in bars and on the road, but nothing weird happened yet like a woman her bra in the middle of the street. And its a shame it hasn’t happened!”.
Ran finds being a bachelor very attracting and interesting. He tells that there is something really sexy and exciting about it, the women he meets and the things he can do. Eventually after being a bachelor for a year now, he would like to have a stable relationship again. “To receive a hug from a woman, a girlfriend. To go back to a safe place where I have my own girlfriend, especially because I’m working in this business I prefer not to have such a famous girlfriend”.
