Ohh good choices! We have similar tastes..i liked the song Ani Chai from the album of Lior Narkis..i believe thats the correct name of the song. And they provide me the same feelings of a bit of Israel outside Israel I would add Moshik Afia to your list..he is really also one of the best mizrahi singers. Zehava Ben also has a unique mizrahi sound..but her music can be depressing sometimes lol..Also check out the older singers whom are really good like Shlomi Shabat and Yoav Itzchak

Thanks for the info but I actually know of all of these singers . Moshik Afia is the best!!! I absolutely love him. I think one of his best CDs is "kah leha isha" . Your absolutely right about Zehava Ben, she has a nice voice but realllllyyyy depressing. Shlomy Shabat is really good, and he actually has some of the best duets today. All of the new CDs with various artists are filled with Shlomi Shabat duets with new upcoming artists and/or already established well known artists. I hope they will continue to make all of the great soul music, which is what muzika mizrahit to me.

Yess you are right..his duet albums are really good..and its nice he was able to make duets with some of the best Israeli artists! Shlomi Shabat of course..but hey i dont need to tell you..i can see you are not a new fan to mizrahi music..kol hakavod..and keep on enjoying!!

I'll be in Ha'Aretz in July and am trying to find Dana Berger or Zehava Ben concerts, but with no luck. Being in Jerusalem on a tight schedule, I might try the Yellow Submarine. But even being on mailing lists, NMC nor Kikar appear to have any way of tracking these particular artists. Both have MySpace and FaceBook accounts, but do not reply with events. What are my next steps. Is there a Derech Agav?

In Israel it is not always possible or easy to know about concerts of artists months ahead, for many reasons that are not important.
Anyway although you are in Israel only in July What I was able to find out for you the following information:

Zahava Ben had A huge sucsesful concert in Jerusalem just day before yesterday and on the 8th of June she is invited to sing and perform in Bulgaria.
Once you are in Israel you can phone her managment and ask for her upcoming concerts schdule, this is their local Israeli phone number: 03-5182000

Regarding Dana Berger she has several concerts during this month:
This evening and also on the 23rd of June she has concerts in Tel-Aviv, on the 6th and 24th of June in Haifa, on the 14th of June in Beer-Sheva.
I am sure that later in June there will be more info about her concerts in July, especially cause she has just started A tour of her lastest album.
By the way the tickets for her concerts cost between 70-80 shekels.
