Ran Danker

Biography


Image Ran Danker was born on the 7th of January 1984 in the United States. Ran and his mother Dalit came to Israel (made Aliya), when he was 2 years old, and he lives with her ever since. They lived in the Bavli neighborhood in Tel Aviv. During that time he was a member of the Ha-Horesh tribe choir of the scouts youth movement.

Towards his Junior-High, Ran and his mother moved to Poleg, Netanya. Between High School and his Army service, Ran participated in a few TV commercials, like a promo of Channel 10, a commercial of Bank Leumi and the cellphone company Cellcom.

He also started in a student film, which was his first experience in acting in front of a camera. Ran took acting classes at Eyal Cohen's school. After he graduated from school, he serviced the Israeli Army as a helicopter technician. After this period Ran has participated in several major projects that made him famous in Israel.

After finishing his military services, Ran attended to auditions, for two TV series called Our Song and Love Around The Corner. He was chosen to act on the show Our Song and even got the a lead part in it. A while later he got another positive answer from Love Around The Corner, but Ran decided to take the first offer, a leading part in the Daily musical drama Our Song.

In the first season of the show, in 2004, Ran played the character of 'Zohar Lahat' a young hot and very talented Kibutznik, a first year student in Yardena Tamir's Music Academy.
At the end of the first season (summer of 2004) Ran and all the other cast members, went on a tour all over Israel, which included the series songs.

On August 2004 Ran joined the singer Shiri Maimon, for performing the theme song of the animated movie called Al-Sid.

Right after participating in Festigal 2004, Ran continued with the shootings of the second season of the show Our Song, which started on January 2005. On May 2005, Ran and all the cast members of Our Song performed the series songs on the stages of the annually Taam Ha-eer festival.

After finishing the shooting for the first Our Song season, Ran joined the cast of Festigal 2004. He sang the song called Like Robin Hood and won the third place in the contest.
A year later Ran participated in Festigal 2005 in which he played the role of The Lightning Man. The lyrics for the song he sang in this contest, which bears the same name as his creature, was written by Ran himself and won him first place that year.

On July 2005, Ran joined the musical production of The Sounds Of Music which was performed on the stages of The Residence Of Stage Arts in Tel Aviv, and later in the Congress Center in Haifa. He played the character of Rolf the Nazi postman who fell in love with Lizell, the oldest daughter of the Von Tramp family. Indeed his part was not very big, but he managed to conquer the audience's heart and for that he got very good reviews. Ran performed in 40 shows and than left in favor of Festigal 2005.

On October 2005 Ran signed a 3 years contract with Diadora and today he is the official model of the company. You can find pictures and posters in catalogs, of Ran modeling the company's clothes in every store that carries Diadora's merchandise.

On December 2005 Ran won the Gold Screen Award as the best actor, for his role in Our Song. On January 2006, he won the Kids Channel Award, for the same category. On March 2006, the filming of the third season started, there Ran plays the role of 'Rani Aviv' a TV series star who is going to be recruited to the Israeli Army.

Ran contributed his voice to the main character of the new animated movie from Walt Disney's studios Chicken Little. Maia Dagan, Guri Alfi and Saar Badishi, contributed their voices to the movie as well.
