Lior Narkis was born on the 8th of November 1976 in Holon. His father was a musician and that attracted Lior to the world of music. When Lior was a kid his parents preferred him to study and have a high education, but Lior had other plans for himself since he was a young kid. At his Bar Mitvah party, Lior went on the stage and sang songs of Zohar Argov and got lots of compliments for his singing. He was so good that he out shadowed the band that were hired to perform at his Bar Mitzvah. After his talent was noticed it was clear that Lior will have a future in the music industry. He released his debut album when he was only 16 years old. The album was named The Prayer Of My Life. It was a Oriental album, like his following albums, from which some of the songs had success and were played in Oriental music clubs and radio programs that were dedicated to Oriental music.
After starting to be noticed by the Oriental music industry, Lior performed in various clubs and as he joined the military he released his second album at the age of 18. In the military it was clear that Lior will do something that has to do with music, and after being a millitary truck driver for a while he joined the entertainment and music group of the air force.
<>Alongside his military service he continued gathering material and worked with Avi Biter (the famous Oriental singer) for his 3rd album. His third album came out while he was still in the military, it was named You Are The Star. This album had songs that became big hits and were played non-stop on the radio channels, the most known from them is Yaldonet (Little Girl). After he finished his military service he decided he wants to reach more crowds and not only the Oriental music fans. Lior started making music that was still Oriental, but with more pop touches and a sound that was more main stream. This was a process that continued on his following albums.
In 1998 Leor his 4th album came out and was named Signs. As he expected, it started bringing him more crowds from the main stream. In that same year Lior also released his 5th album that was named Living For Love. The album was made out of famous songs from the past of Oriental singers that were transformed into long mixes or medleys of several songs.
Lior released his 6th album in the year 2000. It was the album that was the breakthrough of Lior to the main stream audience and to the center of the music in Israel. All the songs had original Israeli music and with less influence of the Oriental sound. The album was named Only With You and it had a huge hit called Everyone Has. The song was written by one of Israel’s greatest writers and musicians, Uzi Khitman. The song was a duet with Shlomi Shabat and became one of the most played songs of the year 2000 and had huge charts and selling success.
After reaching the mainstream audience in Israel, Lior knew that his next album has to be good. He put so much attention to his 7th album that even the smallest details like the cover of the album was done in a special way with lots of care and attention as it was made out of silk! The album named It’s From The Heart, came out in 2001 and it too had songs that were played a lot and had chart success The most popular song from this album was Doctor.
After a career with 7 albums, Lior Narkis was one of the most popular singers in Israel in 2001. His 9th and latest album came out in the beginning of 2005, it was named Street Cat. This title song was one of the last songs written by Uzi Khitman. Lior, who had become a close friend of Uzi and worked with him since his 6th album in 2000m was devastated from Uzis death and named the album after one of his last songs. In 2005 Lior also participated in the children’s/adults song contest called the Festigal.
