Dudu Tasa

Biography

Image Dudu Tasa was born on the 10th of February 1977 in Tel-Aviv. Dudu loves music and loved singing since he was a small kid. His grandfather and his grandfathers brother were famous musicians in Iraq. They played, composed and wrote songs for the most famous artists in that era, and were the people that established the first radio station in Iraq.

At school Dudu Tasa wasn’t a very good student and dropped out. He concentrated on music and drama, especially in the famous youth club Beit Danny in Tel-Aviv. Once at a rehearsal the former Tel-Aviv mayor, Mair Lahat (Chic) saw him performing and was impressed he spoke to Dudu and asked him where he studies ?? The young Dudu said no were!! The following morning Dudu got a phone call with instructions from the mayors office to show up for exams at the Tel Aviv City Art school. Feeling comfortable at this school, Dudu did well and flourished here.

Music was his biggest passion and at the age of 13 the young teenager took out his first album. At the time Dudu had a young sweet voice that fitted the oriental music he sang, and his album called Loving The Songs, became a hit.

In the years to come, as he was growing up, his voice had changed and became more mature and he felt it wasn’t good enough for singing. Because of this Dudu started concentrating on his musical ambitions, by playing the guitar, composing, writing lyrics, writing and composing music for movies like the hit Israeli movie called End Of The World Left. Dudu also performed and still does with the biggest artists in Israel that include Rita, Rami Kleinstein and Eyal Golan.

He also joined a band called Nash Didan, which broke up later on. The band use to sing in Aramit, an ancient biblical language, which they hoped to keep alive this way.

Dudu also performed till end of June 2006 for 7 years as a guitarist and a side kick at the most popular talk show program in Israel with Eli Yatzpan. The program is called Yatzpan and went down recently.

His second album came out in the year 2000 and was titled Clearer. It sold well and also got many praises by the critics. This album wasn’t made an oriental genre album, but it was a main stream rock/pop album. Dudu’s musical style had changed since the first album, but he kept touches of oriental music in the album. He started feeling more confidence and secure about his music. Dudu worked on and produced many famous albums for many top artists in Israel. Beside that he kept on working on his own 3rd album which came out in 2003 and was titled Out Of Choice, which continued the climb and musical success in Dudu musical career.

His 4th album and the most successful so far came out in 2004 and was titled Right On Time. The album was a huge success and had a number one hit, called HaLaila Lo, that was played non-stop on the tv and radio stations. As a result of the big success of this album, Dudu became a front row star in Israel and the demand for his music became enormous.

Now Dudu is living with his girlfriend Tamar Sukenin (the daughter of a famous tv news broadcaster in israel). They are together for over a year and a half and share an apartment in the neighborhood of Florentin, Tel-Aviv. He has recently taken out his first single, called Lola, of his 5th album which will be called the same way. The song Lola is about his girlfriend.

A funny fact about Dudu is that he says about himself that he doesn’t have a good memory and tends to forget names even of people that he knows for a long time.
