Biography

The band HaDorbanim was founded by Itai Gloska and Ido Ofek that met in the military and later added all the other band members. They make rock music that’s influenced by the 70’s disco sound.

The band became active and started working on their own material and performing in the late 90’s. Yhey signed a contract with Hed Artzi, which is the biggest music label in Israel. They released their first single which was named The Disco Is Here Again in 1999. It was produced by Efraim Shamir, the famous musican and music producer. The song had success and brought the band news fans all over. The single was included by Hed Artzi in a Rock ‘N Roll compilation they released.

But the band didn’t receive sufficient help from Hed Artzi and their debut album was delayed. After 3 years with no album, under Hed Artzis supervision and many delays, the band left them and signed a contract with Helicon the second largest music label in Israel. Finally in 2003 their debut album came out. It was also done thanks to Yossi Hason, a music technician, who saw them in several shows they. He liked what he saw and recommended them to Helicon with whom he use to work. Later on Yossi also became a band member.

Their first album was named Kobi, and the first single from it was called We Went Out To Dance. The single had lots of success and the album sold well. It also brought up their previous single from 1999 The Disco Is Here Again, which also entered the charts and made them a well known band in Israel. The album had several more hits like To Check Out Your Engine and Akhla Bakhla Yofi Tofi, which was more of a gimmick amuzing song and it was recorded with the stand up comedian group Ma Kashur. After their first album they performed a lot in various clubs all over the country and especially in Tel-Aviv and continued gathering more fans.

In late summer 2006 HaDorbanim released their second album which is called Levi. The album contains 13 songs and is doing very well in the charts selling figures. The band has continued with the 70’s sound beside the pop/rock sound and the more acoustic sound that has become their trade mark. The first 2 singles from this album that came out in the first half of 2006 already had lots of success. The first single Another Night had become a huge hit on the radio channels and had lots of success on the charts on the radio and on TV. The second single from this album was Everything You Wanted, which also had nice success on the Israeli music charts.

The band members say they have lots of material that would be sufficient to take out more albums. Currently they are working on a show and continue to perform all over Israel.
