Biography

Din Din Aviv was born on the 9th of October 1974 in Tel-Aviv. Her parents, who were also artists, named her when she was born Dina, but they felt after few days that the name doesn’t fit her and changed her name to and extraordinary name Din Din.

Din Din started performing since she was 3 years old. She use to accompany her mom to weddings and other celebrations her mom was invited to sing at. As Din Din grew older she joined her mom and performed with her once in a while. She also had lots of influence from her dad who was a Jazz musician and worked in the theater. All this led Din Din in a natural way to a career in music.

When she was 6 years old Din Din also performed at a famous children/adults song festival where she sang the song Mebulbali (Confused), which came to the second place and received lots of compliments for it.
At her growing up years she use to perform with her mom in the band Alidin and also accompany her dad and therefore she feels relaxed and calm also when she performs in front of big audiences in live shows.

As an adult Din Din was attracted to several musical genres and eventually got her chance with the band Gaya. A band that had success in musical terms and in which she was a member. She also says that in Gaya she learned a lot about the music industry. Before that she use to hang out more with musicians that were from the rock scene and this added another point of view for her understanding about music.

After the success Din Din had with Gaya, she joined Idan Raichel and his project. On his most successful album she sang the big hit If You'll Go, and other songs. After having success with The Idan Raichel Project, she decided that the time has come to gather material for herself and record her first solo album. She got material from many good writers in Israel, including Idan Raichel, Leah Shabat, Khamutal Ben Zayev, Mush Ben Ari and Alon Yope who is Din Dins husband.

Her debut album was released in the middle of 2006 includes 13 songs. Din Din hasn’t written most of the songs and says she isn’t a natural lyric writers and prefers for now that writers that are experts in this field would do it. Her first album is named My Secrets, and the first single from it is called the same. Din Din says that this song was written by her and her friend Yael and it’s about the link between GOD and Man/Woman. The album itself is about the secret of life and happiness, and through the album Din Din is able to reveal more about herself.
Din Din also worked on a show for the new album and is currently touring the country with it. She hopes the album and the tour will have success and will allow her to work on her next album in peace and do it in the way she would want it to be.

Din Din has a son that is a year and a half old named Eden. She says that the child is her best creation and there is nothing higher or important then bringing a child into the world. Although the tough task of raising the baby, with lots of help from her husband, she is able to tour the country and perform all over Israel.

For the future Din Din hopes to continue evolving as an artist and bring better qualities to her following albums and musical projects she will be involved in.
