Biography Daniel Salomon was born on the 5th of December 1973 in Haifa. He has a brother who is a musician too and a sister that has become a school teacher. With the guidance of his parents he started to play the piano when he was 5 years old, and knew at a very young age that he would like to have a future in the music field. His childhood in Haifa was A quiet and peaceful one, Daniel use to accompany his mother to various shows, and spent lots of time with his favourite subject: music.When Daniel was 13 he joined the music conservatorium in Haifa to expand his music knowledge. After that he continued to study music in other music school's in the area till he was 18 and then decided to move to Tel-Aviv and join the school of arts Rimon. After that year he decided to leave Rimon and continued to study music composition for 4 more years with one of his music teachers who discovered him as a young talent, Professor Sadai. In the meantime he use to write and compose his own music and use to distribute his tapings at all kinds of gigs performed at. One of the two meetings that changed his life, was back in 1998 at a club where he met his manager Lilian Shutz. She recognized his musical talent and became his manager, his musical producer and she was responsible for his debut album. The second meeting was with the singer Aviv Geffen whom he already knew. A meeting they had at a restaurant led them to talk about few songs of Aviv, songs he asked Daniel to work on. Later on at the rehearsals of these songs, Aviv decided to take Daniel as his keyboard player and further in the future he accompanied Aviv at his concerts on the piano. Daniel was the opening act for Aviv Geffen's show, which of course gave him the chance to sing and play his own material, feel how it is when you’re the lead singer and build confidence on stage. After lots of work, in 2002 Daniel Solomon released his debut album. It was done thanks to lots of help, sponsorship and work of his agent and musical manager Lilian. The album had two songs that were played often on the radio stations, Preferable and Coming From Pain. The songs made Daniel popular and recognized for his compositions. Hed Artzi the biggest Israeli label noticed his talent and signed him on a contract to take out his albums through them. His first single Preferable made Daniel one of the most played artists of 2002, he also won the 'Golden Feather' award in 2003 for the Composer of the Year by ACUM (organization of the artists in Israel). While continuing to work on music, composing for other artists and for himself, he also joined the band Blackfield of Aviv Geffen and Steven Wilson. Daniel was their keyboard player, he recorded the songs with them and later on joined them in their European tour. In January 2005, Daniel released his second album which was named Many Roads. The album was a huge success with mega hits like Love, Nothing Like Your Love, Many Roads (duet with the singer Dana Adini) and Torn String (a memorial song for the late singer Michal Perlamuter). The album reached a gold status. The song Many Roads became so popular that the leading cellular company in Israel used it as their leading commercial campaign for 2006 called 'Volume 2006' and made a special commercial with Daniel, which became a successful commercial. This was a crucial year for Daniel as he also separated from his long time girlfriend Dana Adini who has become herself a famous singer and is now in the girls band 'HaBanot Nehama' (Nehama Girls). Daniel had become very popular and the demand for him was very high. During the year 2007 he produced albums for various singers, also the theme song for the popular Israeli movie Someone To Run With and for the movie Secrets. He has also been doing various musical projects for different theatres. In the last year Daniel has been offered lots of work. One of the professional highlights was working on the latest album of Shlomo Artzi called Sane, and also on the debut album of the singer Maya Rotman from 'A Star Is Born 4'. Her debut single The Correction Of My Life was from Daniel. Daniel says that he really hopes to be able to work in the future with Yehuda Poliker, Eviatar Banai and Berry Sakharof, whom he considers as great musicians. In summer 2007 Daniel released his third album Haifa 87. The album is about Daniel's childhood and teen years in the northern city of Haifa. The album which was well anticipated by the fans and the music industry became successful from the moment it came out, the first single from it Is It Possible became an instant hit and was played non stop on the radio and TV stations. The following singles from the album are With You and Hey. Alongside taking out the third album Daniel has also made a show from the translated songs of one of his all time favorite artists Leonard Cohen. The name of the show is 'Singing Leonard Cohen' and is being played around the country. Daniel has started touring the country with a show in which he is singing songs from all 3 albums and alongside he is also gathering material for his next album. Daniel likes to see movies in the cinema and watch DVD movies at home, he also likes to read comics and surf on the internet, beside that he has also joined a gym recently so he can stay fit. Daniel has positioned himself as one of Israel's leading artists in recent years and one of the most respected and popular too.
