| Ayala Ingadeshet |
Biography Ayala Ingadeshet was born on the 21st of August 1978 in Ethiopia. Her family immigrated to Israel when she was 2 years old. She was raised and grew up in the city of Ashdod, where her family still lives and she has many childhood friends. Ayala is the oldest of 5 daughter from the Ingadeshet family. Ayala currently lives in Ramat Gan. As a teenager Ayala started singing in a local youth center musical band. Her family were traditionally religious people but they approved and supported Ayala’s wish to sing all the way. At the youth center band she understood that she loves singing and at the age of 14 she already knew that she would like to do that as a grown up. Since a young age Ayala also started writing songs. Later on she joined the military and served in the IDF Navy. During that time and of course after her military service she participated in various shows and played on stage, and even became a part time presenter and announcer in the popular oriental TV music show: Briza (Breeze). This was also a good opportunity for her to get in touch with artists, agents, and of course also learn more about performing on stages. Of course Ayala’s dream was to become a singer and she got her first chance with the hip hop artists Muki and Piloni, whom she met them through her voice developing teacher. They let her sing on their albums and also perform with them on stage as a background vocalist. Previously she also sang background vocals on the album of Ehud Banai. The main music composer and writer of her debut album is Roy Edri who was the lead vocalist of the band Side Effect. He participated in the composition of 12 songs from her album. Her first single from the album is named In A Hurry, the single was written by Ayala and Roy, and already had lots of success on the various radio stations and the music TV channel. The lyrics of the song are in Hebrew and also in Ethiopian, which is Ayala’s native language. Her biggest musical influence was R&B and Soul music. As a teenager she use to listen to the music of Lauryn Hill, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Alicia Keys, Erica Badu, Macy Grey, Bob Marley and so on. So it was natural that the album she will produce will be influenced by this musical sound and styles. In addition to she used Ethiopian music and also some lyrics from her native language. Her second single from her album is the song We Loved. This song as the previous one was played a lot on the radio and music TV station, and this song too has a combination of lyrics in Hebrew and Ethiopian. She got good critics from some musical journalists that compared her to a local Toni Braxton. |
