Aya Korem was born on 07.01.1980 in Natzrat Elite. As a kid and a teenager she was attracted to music and arts, but didn’t think or want to become a singer.
Her teenager years were not extraordinary and she use to spend her time mostly between school and home with her friends. Her military service she did in the Armors And Tanks Unit. After her military service she decided to leave the north and moved to center of the country, where she joined the school of arts Rimon. At this school she was introduced to Miri Mesika (the singer) by one of the teachers. They became good friends and started working on various projects of the school together.
Aya liked to write songs and once her talent in this field was noticed she was asked by many music colleagues to use her songs for their own albums and projects. When Miri Mesika started working on her debut album Aya gave her the song
Your Never, which became a big hit. Aya has also written songs for Miris second album.
Aya was afraid to perform the songs she wrote but decided to make an album for herself
although she had fears and doubts about it. Her debut album which came out in early Summer 2006 is named after her
Aya Corem. The album includes 11 songs from which 9 of them were written by her and produced by Miri Mesikas husband Uri Zach. Miri also helped out with the album by giving Aya lots of advices.
The first 2 singles from her debut album have already become huge hits. The first single called Summer became a huge hit on all the radio stations and the TV music channel 24. Till today it’s being played non-stop. The second single from the album, which was named Simple Love Song, continued the success of the previous single. Aya her album sold well and in January 2007 she received a gold album for her debut album.
Aya is overwhelmed by the success of her debut album. After working on a concert of her own songs, she has recently started touring the country with her own show. Aya says that she prefers to write songs then to sing. Her dream is to write a song for Yehudit Ravitz, who is her favorite singer.
