Yoav Itzchak his new albums contains 8 tracks. Several are the catchy dance songs, with lyrics everything can sing a long with. The other songs are ballads, where Yoav his rough voice is a good add.
The album Like Chocolate is the 13th album Yoav Itzchak has released and his style remained the same after all these years. Which is a good thing, cause its clear that this music is Yoav and its exactly what made him famous.
I can’t resist to first of all mention the song, which is also the title of the album, called Like Chocolate. It’s the Mizrahi music you just can’t resist to dance to. Also the chorus is put together in a way that you will remember the lyrics after listening to it the first time, and you will surely sing a long to it the second time. The same counts for the song called Smile, for which you will turn the volume of your speakers up.
Listening to the ballads of this album, makes you feel homesick to Israel. It's not so music the music on its own, but the combination of Yoav Itzchak his rough voice that makes these songs special.
Personally I find it a shame that many times in the chorus of the ballads, it seems that in the background a choir is singing a long. I would have preferred to hear only Yoav Itzchak his voice.
Like I mentioned in the beginning, the album contains only 8 songs, from which the last song Binder And Bonded lasts 8:08 minutes. This is one of the ballads which could have been nice if it was around 3:30 minutes, like the others. It would have been better to add another song to the album. The more songs the better!
Overall Yoav Itzchak has put together another great album. For all of you loving his music, there was a Best Of album released right after this album came out.
