The album Everything I've Got contains 10 tracks. As we are used from Kobi, there are different kinds of songs on the album. The album starts with a really up tempo dance song, which can almost be called trance. The song isn’t from really high quality, but is nice to listen to. The second song which has the title of the album is a ballad, which makes Kobi his voice sound a bit wining. I did expect more for the rest of the album, so as a non-ballad fan I quickly press the next button.
Gladly the album proves to be more. The oriental music shows up, which fit Kobi his voice the best. The catchy chorus and tune makes the song Tell Me the kind of song we expect and enjoy the most of Kobi. Continuing with a ballad I’m glad to hear that also ballads are no problem for Kobi. His voice is clear and the song isn’t overdramatic, just the way we like it.
I’m not crazy about the technique to use many voices in the chorus, which gives the effect of a choir. It also creates the risk that many songs seem similar. Kobi uses it on different kind of songs from dance to ballads, which makes it less worse. Still the album can do much better without this.
The album finishes the way it started, with a dance/trance song called You’re Like Fire which is much better than the first one. This is a song we can sing a long with and dance on. In between the trance stops and gets Mizrahi drums and singing, which is a nice combination.
The album has a nice variety between ballads, Mizrahi music and dance tracks. The songs are all nice and if you are a Kobi fan, then you surely would like this album. For the people who only want his hits on an album, they can buy the Best Of album which was just released after this album.
